Common questions

Service FAQs

What happens at a first consultation?

A vet will spend around 15 minutes with you. We'll check your pet's weight, heart and lungs, eyes, ears, teeth and skin, and talk through anything you've noticed. We'll then agree any treatment or follow-up with you before any costs are committed to.

How does keyhole (laparoscopic) spaying compare to traditional surgery?

Laparoscopic spaying uses two or three small incisions rather than one larger one. Recovery is usually faster, with less bruising and a quicker return to normal exercise. Kieran holds a post-graduate certificate in laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery.

Do I need a referral to see a visiting specialist?

If you're already a Corry & O'Hare client, no. We'll book you in with the relevant clinic. If you're with another practice, ask your vet to send a referral to us and we'll be in touch.

How do I get repeat medication?

If your pet is up to date on their medication check, you can order repeats by phone or via the order medication page. Allow 48 hours and we will let you know when it is ready to collect.

What if I find injured wildlife?

Phone us first on 028 8224 3909 so we can prepare for the animal arriving. Where safe to do so, contain the animal in a quiet, ventilated box and bring it straight in. There is no charge for wildlife treatment.
